Pumps, Environmental codes and regulations
Pumps, Environmental codes and regulations
(OP)
Hello all,
Recently the agencie I work for had to remediate a site due to diesel oil spillage. This spillage was due to the cracking of a diaphragm of a positive disp. pump. The pump was located on an unmanned remote site.
Is there any guidelines, codes or regulations available out there that would provide advice on pump selection to prevent oil spillage such as the one explained above.
Thank you for your comments and advice!

RE: Pumps, Environmental codes and regulations
I am not sure of the ruling. But normally it is the practice to have a containment around oil or diesel pumps, with the drain led to the slop tank. A high level alarm in the slop tank would indicate a heavy leakage somewhere.
The rule, when you find it will refer to containment and drain I am sure.
