Shutoff surfaces

Shutoff surfaces

(OP)
Have a rather simple model of a remote. using 2007 i am having problems with shutoff surfaces. i select the boundaries and an error pops up saying cannot knit sheets together. tried manually selecting the loops and knitting surfcaes and have the same problem. the surfaces are not complex at all. any insight into this would be appreciated.

RE: Shutoff surfaces

If you're using the Knit command, you'll want to select the faces (or surface bodies) themselves--not edges.

If filling holes with a surface to create a shut-off, you shouldn't need to knit anything together--but you might have multiple shut-off surfaces (no big deal).

You can manually create your shut-off surfaces (and even splitting surfaces), but it's a bit more tricky and the Help files have to be searched carefully to see how.  Check there for more details, since I'm a bit fuzzy on what you need to do next.
