iges import to solid edge

Hello

I want to import some lines from autocad export with igs format and open in solid edge assembly enviroment but looks like do not import the lines only in part enviroment .

It is possible to import the lines in se assembly enviroment?

All the best

RE: iges import to solid edge

Hi,

AFAIK it's not possible. The lines are 2D and do not represent
a volume. So import it in part, create a body and then put
that into your assembly.

RE: iges import to solid edge

Maybe you don't need to create a body, I think that you can insert your part and showing the sketches in the assembly then you will be able to use it as a skeleton.

yes, that would be possible too, the 'lines' was a bit vague
whether they reperesent sketch for a body or being just something like
a floor plan.

Hi,

then you must select the part in EdgeBar,
do right click (RMB) --> Show/Hide Component --> select Sketches

/Edit

before using XpressRoute you must create a sketch in the asm
on the same plane then the part's sketch and include all lines.
This sketch can be used for XpressRoute.
The sketch from the part also visible can't be used directly,
this is still a shortcoming of SE.
