perform a mesh symmetry using Hypermesh ?

perform a mesh symmetry using Hypermesh ?

perform a mesh symmetry using Hypermesh ?

(OP)
dear all,
I'm a new user of Hypermesh. Since last monday, I could'nt figure out how to perform a symmetry on a mesh, I spent a day looking for it in the Hypermesh-help, but I did'nt find it yet.
Is there any one who can help me ?
thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot Greglocock, I tried it before but "reflect" doesn't seem to be used to perform symmetry on a mesh.
Even in hypermesh-help, it's mentioned that "reflect= Moves the selected entities about the plane of reflection."
May be my question wasn’t clear enough, I had some symmetrical components (they have symmetrical plane) which require to be meshed, rather than meshing the whole component, I want only to mesh the half and perform a symmetry on it. At the end, I will obtain the whole component meshed (not only move elements from a side to the other like “reflect” does).
Have a good day.

Hi Enchtain,

You should follow step to do it:
1. to go reflect feature
2. to switch "elems" selection
3. to choose the elements to be reflected
4. to duplicate your selection
5. to choose your symmetry plan
6. to click "reflect"
7. If needed, to go tool=>edges to equivalence the nodes

I hope this helps.

Chris
