SolidWorks - Tensile Drawing Process

SolidWorks - Tensile Drawing Process

SolidWorks - Tensile Drawing Process

(OP)
Hi,

I need help in designing a production process.

Basically, I need to design a CAD showing a wire being pulled through a thin hole. In the process of tensile drawing, the wire gets thinner and is being rolled into very thin tubes. Besides that, my CAD drawing needs to show the necessary production equipment and show how the tube gets rolled as it is being pulled out.

Can SolidWorks create that simulation? What program is needed?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

RE: SolidWorks - Tensile Drawing Process

The short answer is "Yes. SolidWorks can create the assembly model and animation you are looking for."  However, the long answer cannot be given here.  Your best bet is to farm your CAD work out to a CAD professional.  (There are many of us on this forum, BTW).  It will save you money in the long run, and you'll end up with the intended result in less time.
