CAD for Flexible Circuit Board using SolidWorks

CAD for Flexible Circuit Board using SolidWorks

(OP)
hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to convert 2-D drawing of a flexible PCB design using OrCAD into a 3-D drawing version in SolidWorks?

If it is possible, what file conversion program should I use?

Basically, the 3-D CAD drawing should show the thickness of the flexible PCB, the flow of the copper conductor lines and the electrodes.

Thanks

RE: CAD for Flexible Circuit Board using SolidWorks

CircuitWorks is this best for this, but unfortuneatly, to see tracks you need an IDF 4 output which Orcad does not support (only IDF 2).

I can't seem to convert max file to idf file using OrCAD.
How do I convert?

What software should I use?

Does OrCAD PCB Design editor convert max file to idf?

thanks

RE: CAD for Flexible Circuit Board using SolidWorks

In Orcad Layout use File>Export>Layout to IDF. I do not use PCB Design editor, but I think IDF export must be available.
