RE: Update dimension lines

Hi velto,

If I have understood your problem correctly, once you enter drafting application you are unable to see the dimensions, but when u update drawing the dimensions become visible, For this u can do one of the following,

1. Ctrl+Shift+K then press Esc
or
2. In modeling application, Ctrl+B and then Ctrl+Shift+B

RE: Update dimension lines

It sounds like the dimensions have lost their associativity to the model due to the changes you made.  They will need to be reassociated, and I do not know of an automatic way to do this.
Many modeling operations result in edges being deleted or replaced, and any dimensions referencing those edges will lose their associativity.  Efficient modeling methods will minimize this.

RE: Update dimension lines

For what you describe the only cure would seem to be manually re-associating the dimensions. Normally minor changes to the model should not result in loss of dimension associativity. But if you change the design or swap out the original data, then the program has no way of knowing what was selected to create a dimension.

In the drafting application. Edit>Drafting Object Associativity.

Hope it helps

RE: Update dimension lines

By hidden do you mean that they are blanked or that they are not showing up at all?

If they are blanked then you should follow "Man2007"'s post.

From your question >>> "but when I change something in modeling"

What is the "something" you change, that would help a lot in answering the question.

Thank you very much all,for your help, I have changed dimension (length) of the project. But I followed your instructions and now the work is OK. Thanks again

RE: Update dimension lines

It's sometimes better to dimension to faces than to curves, for the reason you cite.  Set the selection filter to 'face' when dimensioning and you'll have fewer detached dimensions.

Edges come and go, but faces tend to hang around.

Good advice, Ed!
