i have a woodhead sst profibus scanner in a remote rack, connected by controlnet.  i can see the scanner but it is listed as unidentified.  do i need an eds file or is unidentified ok for correct communication?

RE: sst profibus scanner on controlnet

you realize that your going to have a 5msec nut delay with the scanner card in the remote rack.

I believe its a generic card so it would be unidentified.
Under your RSlogix5000 config, Go to the module info on the card and see if it is in an unknown or faulted state, if it is then you have a problem.  Otherwise, with the typical code they provide you should be able to get a card that will go to the run mode.

I believe this card has to be scheduled and since their is a lot of data coming back you need to make sure that your controlnet card from this remote rack is not above the 100% max capacity.

Of course you can always call their support line at SST if you still have questions.
