Catia V5 R17 Title block ?

In Catia v5 r17 how do i add a title block to my drawing?
Can i import one from say a dxf or dwg and save it as a catdrw
then use that as my title block? if so how
the more i search it seems like i may have to use Visual Basic
to make my border, is this true?

RE: Catia V5 R17 Title block ?

without making a titleblock script, the quick & dirty method is as you described:

1. open the dwg/dxf file and copy&paste the titleblock into the background view of your new CATDrawing file.

2. save this empty drawing in a common directory

3. to make another drawing, use FILE & NEW FROM to start a new drawing from the empty one; or use FILE & PAGE SETUP & INSERT BACKGROUND VIEW to copy the titleblock from one drawing to your current one.

RE: Catia V5 R17 Title block ?

There is an other posibility:

You can create your titleblock and your frames as 2D components and put them into a catalogue.

Then you can fetch the 2D components from the catalogue to put them into the background view.

Roland
