Rotation Resistant Wire Rope on pulley effect the durabilty?

(OP)
I am looking at a design where it requires the use of a rotation resistant wire rope (cable).  My concern is that this new rope will need to run around a pulley.  This new rotation resistant rope is significantly stiffer than its non-rotation resistant counterpart.  They are both manufactured from carbon steel using a 7x19 construction.  The old cable was replaced every 4 years, and i am concerned that using this new cable will drive up maintenance costs.  Has anybody had any experience with these rotation resistant ropes?
