FAG suffixes question

FAG suffixes question

FAG suffixes question

(OP)
I have two FAG spherical roller bearings for which I would like to know what is the meaning of the following suffixes:
22352K.MB.C3.J15B.T56B -->J15B and T56B
23260HLKC3W33 --> HLK
If anyone knows what means the suffixes listed above please help. I appreciate your feed-back.
Thanks,

RE: FAG suffixes question

I used to have the manuals that decoded all these suffixes, but the real easy answer to your question is to call FAG's engineering department. They will more than gladly look these up for you. I cannot make heads or tails of their website.

RE: FAG suffixes question

22352K.MB.C3.J15B.T56B -->J15B and T56B
23260HLKC3W33 --> HLK

J15B is a precision grade, means tolerances are kept to the bottom limit
T56B, don't know.
HL is just a standard "high reliability" steel cage, nothing special.
K is tapered bore.

RE: FAG suffixes question

J15B means
1) measurement of the bearing OD diameter
2) measurement of the bearing internal clearance
3) marking of the measurements on the outer ring and box
ie if the OD is 30 microns below nominal and the clearance is 0.300mm, then it would be marked -30/R300

T56B means
the transition from the bearing OD to the corner radius is blended

HLK is an old designation, the 23360K.MB.C3 would be the same thing.

FAG applications engineering can verify the proper bearing for your application and recommend a replacement.  The second bearing is a catalog item and the first one can most likely be substituted with a catalog bearing, but it would be best to verify with engineering first.

RE: FAG suffixes question

typo in last message, bearing number should have been 23260K.MB.C3
