Curious phrases and sayings

Curious phrases and sayings

(OP)
Partly inspired by the "Polishing" thread but struck by yet another good quote from the realm of the "game of two halves" (football or soccer) Gordon Taylor, of the Professional Footballers' Association, saying on the radio (f the England Manager):

Quote:

"He is literally in a no-win situation, unless he wins."
Sport is notable for some memorable quotes such as, from TV snooker comentator, Ted Low: "'For those of you watching in black and white, the blue is behind the pink",
"If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again." said Terry Venables.
OK, the list of sports related double speak is long and amusing but in these threads we have discovered that engineering (or managers of engineers) have some memorable phrases too....
Perhaps we could have some contributed here.

"It's deja vu all over again."

RE: Curious phrases and sayings

I may be one of only a miniscule group of people, but I've become so accustomed to them, that wierd expressions being used by engineers are no longer memorable enough to recite any here.
