Super Duplex Interpass Temperature
Super Duplex Interpass Temperature
(OP)
I have recently been advised that an interpass temperature for welding super duplex stainless steel should be limited to 100C. All the texts I have read advise 150C. Apparerntly better weld control is achievable.

RE: Super Duplex Interpass Temperature
The current information I have from various superduplex stainless steel suppliers still recommend a maximum of 150 deg C. Someone may have decided to impose a more conservative interpass temperature requirement to assure remaining below 150 deg C. If anything, I would use 120 deg C maximum interpass temperature to assure remaining below 150 deg C.
RE: Super Duplex Interpass Temperature
I agree that 150°C is the recommended max interpass temperature, also if you look into these two reference you will find the same value.

RE: Super Duplex Interpass Temperature
120C is a reasonable limit.
