invisible drawing views
invisible drawing views
(OP)
i used the search in forums and FAQ's with no hits.
INV R8. .idw created from assembly, ballooned, notes etc., saved.
upon re-opening the drawing only one of six views are visible. Balloons still attached. Upon editing views can be seen as solids, but, not as drawing or hidden line views. The view that IS visible is a projection of a projection.
So OK, scrap the drawing and start over..........Not so fast. The same thing happens in a new drawing. it doesn't matter which view i start with. Soooo....tried to delete items in the assembly to find the offender. No results. Saveas new assy name. Try new drawing with the new assy........same thing. Opened design assistant to see if i got error message. everything fine.
Any help would be appreciated. This is a hot drawing with a lot of eyes watching.

RE: invisible drawing views
i found the offender. and the drawing views have returned now that it is deleted from the assy.
The part was a wire wrapped toroid. So, i had a circular array and an extrusion to represent the wire around half of the ring and then mirrored for the opposite side. It was the mirror that it didn't like. when i took the mirror off the part then worked again in the assembly.
At least now i can focus on my solution.
thanx

i had mirrored an array in a part. I had two axis defined on the ends of the array and created a work plane across them, offset a plane to that and then mirrored the array.
the part looked fine.
when i backed up (end of part)the one axis had become 'sick' and therefore so was the workplane that was generated from it.
i deleted and replaced the axis and workplanes, all good now.
