Does Catia/SmarTeam use a local workspace

Does Catia/SmarTeam use a local workspace

Hello all...

My company is migrating to NX5/Teamcenter.  One of the more perplexing features of NX/TCe is the lack of a local workspace to 'check out' data into.  You are always working with 'live' data in the vault.

I-Deas/TDM and ProE/Intralink both use the concept of a local workspace into which the user checks out files.  WHen the modifications are completed, the user checks the files back into the master vault for other users to access.

Does Catia and SmarTeam use this methodology?

Thanks,

Ed

YES, YOU HAVE TO USE WORK SPACE.

??  There is no such concept in ENOVIA VPLM (aka LCA) that I am aware of.  If you use History Mode in VPLM, however, you will have both the Released and the Un-released parts in your product structure, so you can see what is the current released structure.
