Journals or Papers on Bearing Capacity for Slab on Grade

Journals or Papers on Bearing Capacity for Slab on Grade

(OP)
Can someone or anyone direct me where I can find some information on determining the bearing capacity of a slab on grade foundation that has expansive clays?  The slab on grade has beams to stiffen the slab but since it has a grid on the bottom, I am not quite sure which equations would apply.  Also, can you follow up that equations to determine settlement of such a foundation?

Thanks

Calif

The resisant virtues of the structure that we seek depend on their form; it is through their form that they are stable, not  because of an awkward accumulation of material.  There is nothing more noble and elegant from an intellectual viewpoint than this: to resist through form.  Eladio Dieste
