FeatureWorks Problem

FeatureWorks Problem

FeatureWorks Problem

(OP)
Using automatic feature recognition I click on a face that has 4 Holes and one Cut-Extrude. FeatureWorks finds 5 Cut-Extrudes. No problem so far. Then when I try and convert the 4 Cut-Extrudes to a circular pattern it always leaves one of the holes in the circular pattern out. Anyone know why this would happen? I'm doing the FeatureWorks tutorial example that comes with SolidWorks. I've tried both sides of the part and have the same problem.

RE: FeatureWorks Problem

Is the hole that is being left out being treated as the seed hole for the pattern?

Can you attach the file for testing?

cheers

How would I tell if it is being used as a seed hole by FeatureWorks? Where would I change or set this option in FeatureWorks?

The file comes with SolidWorks and is the training file for FeatureWorks.

RE: FeatureWorks Problem

The holes that are not included in the circular patterns are indeed being recognised as the seed holes for the patterns.

In the Feature Manager tree, the hole preceding each pattern is the seed hole. If you change its size you will see the patterned holes change to match. The 3D sketch and Axis features between the hole and the pattern are used to create the pattern.

cheers

Got it now. Thanks!
