SolidWorks pattern file missing

SolidWorks pattern file missing

SolidWorks pattern file missing

(OP)
I'm having a similar problem to oharag. The linear pattern function on the newly downloaded SW 2007 is not working. I get the same error: "Could not load Solidworks DLL: sldpatternu.dll". The situation isn't exactly the same. All of the computers in the department have been upgraded and nobody has a machine that this fuction works on. Does anyone have the missing file that I could have?

RE: SolidWorks pattern file missing

We can't send you the file. Try running a fix or reinstalling SW, or call your VAR.

This isn't the first instance I've heard of SW not working properly after a download. Chances are, the download didn't fully complete. After completing the download, but prior to installing, verify that the download size matches the file size you selected from the website.
As Chris said, try running a repair on it. From the sounds of things, you guys have an admin image. You'll have to run the repair on that.

RE: SolidWorks pattern file missing

Newly downloaded SW07 or just the latest SP?

If SW07, why not use the CDs or DVD?

Either way, make sure the AV is disabled.

cheers

This is a newly downloaded version and I'm uncertain about the admin image.( I'm kind of on the recieving end of that)I have reinstalled it and ensured that the AV was turned off on the while installing. Unfortunately, our go-to is out today.

RE: SolidWorks pattern file missing

Do you not have the DVD? Have you spoken with your VAR about this problem?

cheers

RE: SolidWorks pattern file missing

Repair will not fix this issue. If you don't have another system there that is working then you have to call your VAR and get the file from a working machine. This is from the SW KB:

Question: When creating a linear pattern, SolidWorks states it cannot find the specified procedure and could not load sldpatternu.dll. What is causing this problem?

Answer: The problem is probably caused by a corrupt sldpatternu.dll.  Replace the sldpatternu.dll in the SolidWorks directory of the bad system with the dll from a system with a good install of SolidWorks.

Your install might be new, but there is a problem with your system and that file... probably more along the lines of a bad register of the file to windows.

Thanks to all for your input. The problem was resolved by by replacing the out-dated .dll file with the latest version.

RE: SolidWorks pattern file missing

I am having a similar issue with my pattern command in SW 07 SP5.0. My crew has been updated per an Admin image to SP 5.0 from SP3.1 and our pattern command no longer works. We get kicked out of SW when you try and use the command.

I copied the sldpatternu.dll from an engineer whose machine has yet to be upgraded and who can use the pattern command. My machine now will not kick me out, the pattern dialog box comes up, but I can’t pick a linear edge to tell the pattern which direction I want it to pattern. Did I miss something? Is there another .dll that needs to be swaped out?
