Could someone explain it to me what procedures is required when we do radioscopic exam. and radiographic exam. I read article 2 of section V (ASME), for radiographic exam. and Appendix II of article 2 of section V (ASME), for radioscopic exam. However after reading these articles for a couple of times things are still not clear to me. What I want to know is the differences in the procedures for both methods.

The inspection detailed in Article 2 is 'traditional' film based RT. Film is placed on one side of the test piece and a radiation source (machine or isotope) on the other. The radiation source exposes the film which is removed and developed to produce an x-ray image of the test piece.
The inspection detailed in Appendix II uses a digitizing plate in lieu of the film. The amount of radiation is sensed by the digitizing plate. The digital information is optimized and is displayed in real time (or near real time) on a computer monitor.
Basically, an entirely different procedure is required for each. Film radiography uses IQIs (penetrameters) whereas radioscopy uses step wedges and line pair test patterns. In radioscopy the post exposure enhancements performed on the digital image must be proceduralized to the extent they affect image quality. There are a lot of other procedural differences as well.
