I am designing a 14' diameter x 20' high water tank with 500 gpm capacity, which standard should I apply between API 12D or API 12F. Also appreciate if someone could tell me exactly which dimensions shuold I follow when looking on "Table 1" of both API standards that I previously mentioned.

Unless the shop is somewhat near the site a 14’ dia tank is not going to be economical to shop fabricate due to freight costs. (At least in the US.) Suggest you reduce the diameter and increase the height. The max diameter that can be easily shipped in the US is about 12’. If possible pick a height that is a multiple of the most available plate width; in the US this would be 8’.
