Unwrap a curve mesh surface

Unwrap a curve mesh surface

Unwrap a curve mesh surface

(OP)
Hey guys,

I remember a basic surface unwrap functionality in old UG V18. I cant seem to find it in NX2 or NX4. If it is still available can someone point me to the right area?

I want to unwrap a curve mesh surface onto a plane. I saw if I had a cone or cylinder there was a function but I cant find the old one for this type of surface.

Thanks!!

RE: Unwrap a curve mesh surface

Yes, we still do, under Start -> All Applciations -> Sheet metal -> Forming/Flatening...

We've also got a new specialize application specifially for laying out composites.

RE: Unwrap a curve mesh surface

John,
Is this new application at all related to the old composites application?  Or is it something fresh (and supported)?

RE: Unwrap a curve mesh surface

Actually, NO!  Wrap/Unwrap Curve has been part of the UG/NX Curve suite of functions since at least UG V16.0, close to 10 years or so.

The Composite Module is somewhat newer, being introduced with NX 1.0 back in 2002.

RE: Unwrap a curve mesh surface

We looked at a composites package that UGS was offering back in 2002 and were told by the rep that it was no longer being supported.  It was developed by/for Boeing before UGS started controlling it.  Is that the same one that you are refering to?  If so, has it been improved?  We ended up going to FiberSim because of the support issues.
