Problems with a PanelView 550
Problems with a PanelView 550
(OP)
Hi.
I have a Panel View 550 with RIO Port and RS-232 printer port.
I can not download my application from Panel Builder 3.82
I can to see the panel view on RSLinx using 2711-CN13 cable.
When I try to download the application, Panel Builder return the error 4091 - Application file is for an incompatible communication type.
I dont know what is the problem.
In Commnunication setup menu on the panel view, only appear RIO Configuration.
The RS-232 configuration only appear in printer setup.

Whatever, the problem is the same.
I know that can upload/download my application by RS-232 printer port.
Is possible that my panelview only have enable the RIO port to discharge applications?
I upload the main program to Panel Builder from Panel view by RS-232 printer port. I didn't have any problem. I can open the main application. But I couldn't discharge a new application.
what is my problem? I don“t understand.

To communicate to your RIO panelview, you will need an standard RS-232 9 pin null modem cable or Rockwell part # 1747-CP3.
Go into the panelview's configuration screen, under printer setup, you want Port Mode set to "Printing Disabled."
This will allow you to upload and download your application thru the RS-232 port. In RSLinx you will use the RS-232 DF1 Driver.
An easier and much, much faster alternative is to use a memory card.
