Part design Multi Part Body Design - Cannot Reference Other Bodies

Part design Multi Part Body Design - Cannot Reference Other Bodies

Part design Multi Part Body Design - Cannot Reference Other Bodies

(OP)
I have a simple part with 5 bodies.  I have created a new body and would like to create a pad referencing the surface from another body which to extrude up to.

The error: "select a face belonging to the current body or part body"

I've never gotten this one before.  Is this a setting issue?

Thanks

RE: Part design Multi Part Body Design - Cannot Reference Other Bodies

Up to last, up to next refer to a piece of geometry in the active body.  You can use up to plane and pick a pad face of another body.

Regards,
Derek

I want to extrude between two surfaces of other bodies.  I am using "up to surface"

Your doing something that CATIA wasn't intended to do...

to expand on Derek's workaround; try extracting the surfaces from the other partbodies first, then use them with your exturded partbody.
