Draft hinge

Draft hinge

Draft hinge

(OP)
Greetings,

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to create a draft hinge curve on a solid based curved surface.  For instance imagine I extruded an ellipse and wished to generate a draft on the curved portion of the extruded ellipse BUT I want to have the draft hinge follow the curved surface using an arbitrary curve that I define on this surface.  A plane used to define the hinge of the draft in this case fails to meet my need.

Thank you

RE: Draft hinge

Try projecting a datum curve onto your curved surface then use this as a neutral curve for your draft.
