FMS Drifting Problem

FMS Drifting Problem

FMS Drifting Problem

(OP)
Good Morning,
We have a Mazak FMS system supporting three 4K lasers MKII 510's. We have encountered a problem with the sheet loader side of the Traverser, it has a drifting problem after it has loaded the sheet and had raise to allow the positioners to push the sheet in place. While the positioners are pushing, the loader is dropping and more often than not, the cup end up sitting on the sheet before correct position has been reached.  This extra weight prevents the sheet from moving into position and alarms out after three attempts. We have inspected and replaced all of the solenoid valves, all of the exhaust mufflers have been cleaned air pressure confirmed and took the cylinder apart to inspect for abnormal wear. We have checked all of the check valve and speed controllers. Has anyone else had this problem before?

RE: FMS Drifting Problem

The 2 large air cylinders on the load/unload sides have a built in brake unit on the bottom part of the cylinder. After time these can start to fail causing the unit to drop. Have you checked this part of the system?
