Looking for finger print scanner to interface with PLC

Looking for finger print scanner to interface with PLC

(OP)
I'm looking for a finger print scanner to interface with an AB Contrologics processor.  We don't have a computer on machine so I'm limited with interface options.  It will be so operators can uniquely "log-in" to the machine and enable certain features based on their rights.

RE: Looking for finger print scanner to interface with PLC

I've never forayed into this field, but it piqued my interest, and took a look around. I have been idly thinking about doing something similar, but using a magnetic swipe card reader, and our existing time & attendance cards.

Synel and Suprema make fingerprint readers which might be coaxed into working. I didn't looked nearly closely enough, but with at least one of them you may be able to get at them over an Ethernet comm line.
