Select by attributes not in ACAD? :(

Select by attributes not in ACAD? :(

(OP)
Been a Microstation user for the past 4 years. Now ACAD for 6 months.

In microstation you can select layers (levels) by attributes. Basically, isolating and selecting for quick editing.

The problem is in ACAD I'm trying to make a large selection, then change the color properties back to "by layer". Unfortunately the only options I get are (Layer, Linetype, and Lineweight), not color. Boo.

It would be easier there were any layer structure to this dwg, but it came from another firm, so isloating layers individually will take some time.

RE: Select by attributes not in ACAD? :(

You should be able to change the color back to "ByLayer" using the Properties toolbar or window. I have color available to me on both.

I was a Terramodel user before and Terramodel lets you select all object on one layer which I really miss so I feel your pain.

RE: Select by attributes not in ACAD? :(

If you have the Express tools installed, you can use the Getsel command to easily select all (or by entity type)the entities on a layer.

Thank you for the getsel command. Much easier now.
