Copy Chart

Copy Chart

Copy Chart

(OP)
I copy an embedded chart from Excel 2003 to Word by selecting the underlying cells then ctl c, paste special, Picture(enhanced metafile).  Now for the 1st time in a year when I paste I get the cell gridlines.  It's from this file only.  The other files I copy from don't have the problem.  I compared all the options and made sure they were the same.  I get the gridlines whether I use ctl c or shift edit copy.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Roger

RE: Copy Chart

Can you not just select the chart area (click outside the actual graph or titles, so that you select the containing box) and copy/paste that? If you have trouble selecting the chart area, you can pick it from the dropdown box in the Chart toolbar.

Cheers,
Joerd

RE: Copy Chart

(OP)
I found what it was.  Somehow the gridlines box got checked on the Page Setup.

The reason I use the method is there are 2 charts in a specific arrangement perfectly set up to drop into the word doc.  If I select them individually they don't look right and trying to make them consistent with the others is too much trouble.

Now I remember even more.  I checked the box to print out something else on the sheet last week and I never did that before.  I never had reason to futz with it so I feared I screwed it up.

I new it would be something simple and a simple Excel person gave me the answer.

I appreciate your help though.

Thanks,

Roger
