Insulated Joints

Insulated Joints

Insulated Joints

(OP)
Someone knows if the Isolated Joints for lines in offshore platforms supports high temperature of operation?

Where can I find literature about that?

We have an Isolated Joint for installing in a line with 115 ° C. And we want know if it can support that temperature. The Insulated Joint will be installed in the riser.

RE: Insulated Joints

domi,
The insulated joints you mentioned are fabricated for various applications, made of a large variety of materials, including applications for low or higher than ambient temperature also. There are insulating joints designed for elevated temperature, using some ceramic insulator material.
The nameplate on the joint will provide you a part number and the fabricator name. Call the fabricator / email your questions to him. If there is no nameplate, sink the b...rd quickly in the deep ocean, before you get any other ideas of using it on your offshore platform.
