RAM Concept sotware vs ADAPT-floor (ADAPT_PT)software
RAM Concept sotware vs ADAPT-floor (ADAPT_PT)software
(OP)
Hello folks,
Has anyone ever used RAM Concept software or ADAPT-floor(ADAPT_PT) for PT and/or RC floor design ?
I was comparing the productivity, efficiency, issues and limitations of these two softwares or other PT/RC slab design software(if any). I surfed their respective websites but i just want to have 'first hand' information from people of experience.
Your response is really appreciated!

We have most of the RAM modules, including Ram Concept.
Overall, to be honest, we are somewhat disappointed in the RAM software. Extremly complex to use. One small error in checking numerous parameters on or off can lead to totally bogus numbers.
While we have no doubt it is an extremely powerfull program, unless you designate someone to be your full time 'modeler', its hard to become proficient at all the 'ins and outs' of the program when you only use it occasionally.
If your firm does very large projects, were design times string out into years, this may be the system for you. For firms like ours, where most of our scedules are measured in terms of a few months, we don't have the time to make a research project out of building a computer model in RAM for every building and checking it enough to make sure we are comfortable that we have every paramenter set correctly.
Just one guy's opinion. I'm sure others have more positive experiences with the program.
Regards.

I think the toughest thing about both is learning how to lay out your design strips without causing a hiccup in the program...both programs are picky about that.
