How do you pals estimate size of gutters and downpipes?

How do you pals estimate size of gutters and downpipes?

(OP)
I came across a publication, but unfortunately it was all about small houses. Gutter sizes were too small for my applications which usually involve drained widths of around 30ft(10 meters).

Considering CONVENTIONAL ROOF DRAINAGE (Not syphonic systems or any other systems), I will appreciate any rules of thumb or any bit of info.

RE: How do you pals estimate size of gutters and downpipes?

The most commonly used publication in the US for this (outside the mechanical codes) is the SMACNA Manual.  SMACNA is the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (www.smacna.org).

RE: How do you pals estimate size of gutters and downpipes?

Ramsey & Sleeper's Architectural Graphic Standards give comprehensive charts to quickly determine required gutter and drain/downspout sizes for the USA.
