REFRIGERATION-CHILLER
I am a begginer Mechanical/design Engineer....
As of now construction of our rehab chiller is still going on. Some technical says that our compressor will possibly worn-out because that reciprocating compressor use a ammonia refrigerant and my design is use Freon 22 instead of Ammonia. This Compressor is rated at 90 KW,100 TOR, 18 bar working pressure,658 m3/h swept volume for Ammonia ref. and if i use freon 22 my compressor requirement is about 70 KW for a 100 TOR. Do the Compressor damage if we will run that or is there something to add or replace?
Hope to read your answer soon...Thank you and Godblees

RE: REFRIGERATION-CHILLER
Most open drive recip compressor can operate on ammonia or R-22, however a few are not.
Another issue is that there is a theory that the ammonia will permeate into the iron casing and out gas into the R22 and cause damage. You may need to disassemble the compressor and chemically boil the parts to remove any residual ammonia.

Look at the net refrigeration effect (NRE) for the two refrigerants and the specific volumes at the condition.

By day the previous design datas and condition written below are as follows; 100 TOR, 95 kw rated compressor power,90 KW compressor power required, 18 bars operating pressure and 658 m3/h swept volume and water cooled...
... and the present/redesign data: 100 TOR, 78 psi high pressure side,68 KW compressor power required....thank s a lot again...
RE: REFRIGERATION-CHILLER
Our company has 4 coal fired boiler and two fuel fired boiler. We are required to maintain 1 MPa to maintain the production operate in a good condition.we operate 2 boler at a time to avail these requirement.the connection of the two boiler are in a parallel manner.
at time that we operate the bunker and the other boiler the cheked valve head of bunker side was explode...
the question is, what is the most probable cause of explosion. Is the connection of the boilers are critical if they run not simulteneiously? What are the tips to avoid this kind of sequeces if there is ?Is pressure hammer exist, that is why the pressure at the bunker exceed to the check valve design pressure limit?
thanks....ROCULLO123
