Export image with callouts
Export image with callouts
(OP)
I am creating a parts manual for a machine that is modeled in S.E.
When I save as image... the resolution on the callouts and many of the drawing lines is poor. Because of this I have to save the image without callouts and add them in Word. - There has to be a better way.
I am looking to have clear images with callouts right from S.E. and then use the BOM in S.E. as the corresponding parts list for the parts manual.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Export image with callouts
If so I suggest you use monochrome tif. This is a very compact file format so you can increase the pixel count significantly to get better definition of the final image without the image file being too large.
When you create as image you should see an options button, keep the ratio and increase the pixel count, I typically approximately double it for a good resolution.
Alternatively if the manual is mostly pictures why not create a Solid Edge format version of the manual. We are experimenting with this for assembly instructions.

Thanks again.

File, save as image.
In the window that pops up, save as type TIFF.
Options, check maintain ratio, approximately double 'width'. Change color to 1 bit monochrome, OK.
Doing it in SE does have disadvantages but can be useful.
I'd experiment before you commit to it.
