How about loss of MV tuned filter?

How about loss of MV tuned filter?

How about loss of MV tuned filter?

(OP)
We measured Active, Reactive and Apparent power of tuned filters.

6.6 kV system. Indoor, Aircore reactor, Cable length < 35 meters.

1. 5th Filter#1 3.9 MVAR(Design)
     P = 54 kW     Q = 4.19 MVAR     I = 365 A   THDi < 5%(Measured)

2. 7th and 11th Filter#1 7.8 MVAR(Design)
     P = 159 kW    Q = 8.17 MVAR     I = 711A   THDi < 5% (Measured)

3. 5th Filter#2 3.9 MVAR(Design)
     P = 34 kW     Q = 3.95 MVAR     I = 350A   THDi < 5% (Measured)

4. 5th Filter#3 5.0 MVAR(Design)
     P = 103 kW     Q = 5.05 MVAR     I = 440A   THDi < 5% (Measured)

5. 7th and 11th Filter#2 5.0 MVAR(Design)
     P = 136 kW    Q = 5.10 MVAR     I = 440A   THDi < 5% (Measured)

     How about loss of all MV tuned filters, Normal or Abnormal?
     We calculate loss from capacitor(.12kW/MVAR) and loss from cable (I^2Rloss < 1kW) but it very less than measured value(we don't know Resistance of Reactor).
     What was causes the loss of tuned filters?
     Can we reduce loss of all filters? How ???

RE: How about loss of MV tuned filter?

Reducing the loss of filters increases the sharpness of the tuning.  This may reduce the effectiveness in filtering out harmonics.  There is a balance between reducing losses and optimizing the filter for harmonic reduction.

So, how about loss of all MV tuned filters?

Normal   or   Abnormal.

Thank

RE: How about loss of MV tuned filter?

The losses of each filter seems to be 2% of the VAR or less. Seems reasonable to me.
