Calculate area of a solid

Calculate area of a solid

Calculate area of a solid

(OP)
I use the extrude command to make a solid out of a 4 side polygon. How can i calculate the area of the solid is created ?

Also, I want to calculate the area of a 90 degrees curve of a circle duct. How ?

Please, help me. I don't want to get confused with elevation geometry etc.

Thank you,
Nektarios

RE: Calculate area of a solid

Assuming you mean volume, not area, use the Massprop command.

I mean area. I don't care about the volume.

RE: Calculate area of a solid

If all else fails, just redraw a polyline over the solid in top view.  Then either use AREA or LIST to get the area of it.

RE: Calculate area of a solid

VMichl's link describes the surface of a solid.  TrafficDesigner is describing a projected surface area which is a somewhat different concept.
It should be simple to verify that the autocad command does not generate a projected area but instead is the actual surface area.
