Operating sysytems?

Operating sysytems?

Operating sysytems?

(OP)
I am looking into 64 bit O.S. systems that are supported with Catia/Delmia
Does anyone have a "yes" or "no" on these O.S. systems.
I figure that the "Sparc 64bit" is a "yes".
The other 3, I am having a difficult time finding this info.

Linux RHE v3 64bit
Linux RHE v5 64bit

Solaris X-86 64bit
Solaris Sparc 64bit

Thanks in advance

G

I have already looked at this days ago.

The 2 below are the ones in question.
Is anybody out there running on these 2 O.S. below.

Linux RHE v3 64bit
Linux RHE v5 64bit

Thanks

RE: Operating sysytems?

Greg - are they on the list of support Hardware and OS?
If they are not on the list, they are not supported.

RE: Operating sysytems?

I wish that instead of "assuming", they would just say
that Linux is not supported at this time.
Then there would not be any questions.
I don't like assuming.

Thanks everyone for your replies

RE: Operating sysytems?

Greg, its not about assuming, they make it simple with the support configurations.  They tell you which graphic cards, drivers for that graphics card, operating system, service packs.  Think of all the combinations of hardware and software, including drivers that exist.

RE: Operating sysytems?

CATIA V5 does not run on Linux-Workstations

Last year I am told by Dassault that they won't port CATIA to linux because ther is no interest.

Regards,

Roland

RE: Operating sysytems?

It is not that there is "no interest", it is rather that they have no customers that are willing to say "Linux or nothing" and go find another CAD system.

There are many of us that are interested in running on Linux, but we are not willing to finance their development efforts - we are not going to buy more CATIA if they port to Linux than we do today, nor are we going to find another CAD system if they don't port.

RE: Operating sysytems?

@Jim:
I've just repeated what I was told by Dassault Germany.

Of course I'ld prefer CATIA V5 on an Linux System.

Roland

Thank you everyone.
This forum has a lot of knowledge and experience.
I have always been happy with the end results.

Thanks again

Greg
