TRACE 700 vs HAP 4.3 COMPARISON - WEATHER FILE

(OP)
Hello

I am trying to compare TRACE 700 vs HAP 4.3. To do that i would like to have the exacly same full year 8760h weather file. For instance I have weather file for Coimbra - Portugal from Trace website "085490.IWC" and I have weather file for Coimbra - Portugal from Carrier website "PORTUGAL_COIMBRA_ASHRAE_IWEC.HW1".

Anyone knows how can I convert one of the files so that I use the exacly same file on both programs.

There is any tool that I can use to actualy view and compare both programs.

I would realy apreciate your help.

Best Regards

I would guess that both files have the same weather data source ultimately, but you'd have to print out the weather data from within each program (HAPS and Trace) to compare.

RE: TRACE 700 vs HAP 4.3 COMPARISON - WEATHER FILE

eQUEST has a weather file conversion utility that may work with TRACE and HAP.  I use HAP and eQUEST and they are similar but eQUEST is more powerful.  I haven't used TRACE although I have heard that there used to be some problems with the weather files.

You can get eQUEST for free (it is paid for by us folks in California) at http://doe2.com/equest/index.html
