Elastomer resistant to ultra high concentration of ozone

Elastomer resistant to ultra high concentration of ozone

Elastomer resistant to ultra high concentration of ozone

(OP)
I'm searching an elastomer that would resist to ultra high  concentration of ozone, nothing compared to std ozone chemical compatibility chart found on the web that is around 150ppm.  The concentration is up to 500 times higher that that!!!
Viton, silicone are not compatible.

RE: Elastomer resistant to ultra high concentration of ozone

Elastomers instrinsically have high free volume, meaning that they are always permeable to gas. That means that I only see to ways to get protection. One would be to prevent the ozone from getting into the polymer, for example by applying a plasma coating of glass SiOx (well known for PET bottles and cheap) or to add platy fillers like mica or nano clay. Alternatively you may be able use an additive that oxidises to glass in the presence of ozone, for example silanes or POSS.

There is not any memory with less satisfaction than the memory of some temptation we resisted.

Here is one approach we used to combat Ozone problems with O-ring seals in our Electrolytic Processes.

For other seals where we forced to use Teflon as sealing material.

I can't imagine any elastomer doing better than silicone. You may need to investigate different types and formulations.
