I all!

I'm looking for information about an oil circuit Breaker Westinghouse type BS 16 , 600V, 1600A . What is the interrupting capacity on this type of breaker.

Thanx

RE: Info Needed on a Westinghouse OCB

A 600 V OIL breaker?  This must be very old.  Does it look like two terminals sticking out of a paint can with an external mechanism?

Expect it to be very slow and interrupting ratings to be fairly low.  I have seen equivalent GE breakers used at480 V, but the breakers were actually rated for a much higher voltage. These were circa 1930 (still in service!)

Customer was looking for replacement. We told him that may be it is time to get some new stuff...

www.cbsales.com will have it if anyone will, they also do retrofills so you can use the same switchgear.
