Flate Head Design Pressure

Flate Head Design Pressure

Flate Head Design Pressure

(OP)
When designing in Compress for an atmospheric vessel, is it necessary to use 14.7 as the internal pressure? Can I use 0psi? Also, does Compress take into account the actual weight stress from the liquid or do I have to enter these manually as a vertical load? I want to make sure that the thickness if using 0psi is still adaquate for the the weight and any possible oil canning that could occur.

RE: Flate Head Design Pressure

Use 0 psi and set liquid level and S.G. by going to: Loads/Liquid Level
