Trace Path of a Point

Trace Path of a Point

Trace Path of a Point

(OP)
Hey guys.  Is there a way for me to trace the path of a point as it would move in a product with constraints applied, so that the trace line is created in a geometrical set?

Much thanks for any suggestions.

RE: Trace Path of a Point

you can do this using Kinematics...

check online doc : .../docv5r17/English/online/kinug_C2/kinugat0600.htm

Thanks for the tip Eric.  I found the help doc, but for the life of me can't find the DMU Generic Animations Toolbar.  I have DMU Check, Rendering, and Viewing toolbars available.  It seems as though my licensing should not be a problem with both Part Design and GSD.  I am running R16, but the help file I read on the Trace command came from R16 help documentation, so it must be here somewhere.

Figures as soon as I reply to a question about losing a toolbar...I lose mine.

RE: Trace Path of a Point

One way would be to put coordinate points at each position and isolate them before moving to next position. Those points could then be used to create an Arc or Spline track.
