Polyester Resin performance in Contamination

Polyester Resin performance in Contamination

Polyester Resin performance in Contamination

(OP)
Can anyone provide information on the performance of cured polyester resin in contaminated soil and/or groundwater. I am a civil engineer investigating a cured-in-place lined sewer in a nasty area. What kinds of compounds and concentrations should I be concerned about?

RE: Polyester Resin performance in Contamination

I think that the Corrosion Intitute in Stockholm Sweden specialises in that type of question. You might contact them. Here is a link to their English homepage.

RE: Polyester Resin performance in Contamination

You have to take into consideration acids & basic elements,

resin resistence dependes very much on the type of polyester resin, the manufacturer must give you that information, anyway up to 5% of acid is ok. you have to be careful specially with elements such as So4h2
