Saving Excel File to .prn format

Saving Excel File to .prn format

Saving Excel File to .prn format

(OP)
I saved an excel file to .prn format.  As suggested in a previous post I inserted empty columns between columns with letters that follow columns with numbers.

The file looks good, this is what I am looking for to use in a Fortran Program.

The only thing I am trying to work out is that when I save the excel file to .prn format there is about a 5 empty space before the first number in every row.

Is there something I can do so that there is no empty space before my first number?

THANKS

RE: Saving Excel File to .prn format

Isn't that where Fortran used to put the line numbers on cards?

I.e., if you're going to read the file with Fortran, maybe you want the spaces there.

RE: Saving Excel File to .prn format

Hi there:

How about if you try to save your MS Excel file as an TXT (flat file).

Such file can be pulled into any either text and/or FORTRAN editor.

Once you pull it in, you can clean up and/or fix any kind of formatting issues that you do not like.

Thanks,
