Shading parts in Drawing

Shading parts in Drawing

Shading parts in Drawing

(OP)
Is it possible to shade a part in an assembly drawing. I do not want to shade a whole view. If we change an assembly we would like to shade the part we are changing. We thought shading the part would stand out the best. I have set up layers and I am able to change the color but would like to go one step more.

Thanks

Pete

Layers work well for this.

RE: Shading parts in Drawing

If I'm understanding what you'd like to do, I believe you can use display states for this. Go into the configuration manager and RMB on display states > add display state. Go back to the feature manager, highlight all the parts you want to change to wireframe; RMB > Component Display > Wireframe. The part(s) you want to keep shaded remains shaded.

When you create the drawing, bring in the assembly as shaded, then right click on the assembly and change the display state properties to match your new display state.

Hope that makes sense.
