Getting Data Characteristics of Cables

Getting Data Characteristics of Cables

(OP)
Just for my own interest, I would like to model a HVTECK 300KCMIL cable in Etap. Etap has in their library 250KCMIL and 350KCMIL sizes, with RDC, RAC, Impedance, etc data.
However, I am having a hard time finding this information published on the internet. Out of curiosity, do cable manufactures not provide this info?

Say suppose you want to know the Capacitance per km of a cable, you'd have to contact the manufacture each time you use a different cable type?

RE: Getting Data Characteristics of Cables

It's all in my EasyPower library looking around

You should be able to contact the manufacturer and get some of the info.

There are some other reference books that have typical values, as well.  The inductance depends on the configuration and the conduit material, etc so manufacturer's don't have all the answers.  "A Practical Guide to Short Circuit Calculations" by Conrad St. Pierre has a good appendix with typical cable data.
