floating magents in water?
floating magents in water?
(OP)
sorry if this isn't intellectual enough to be taken seriously by some. but i was hoping someone knew where to find a magnet that could float in water. eg, maybe a hollow magnet. i know it sounds dumb, most magnets are solid metal and all. but itd be interesting if there was such a thing. a closed system utilizing both magnetism and bouyancy just interests me. thanks in advance for any genuine responses.

RE: floating magents in water?
I don't know of such a material available on the market, but imagine it wouldn't be difficult to produce it in the flexible type, but of course magnetic strength would go down with density.
You can also glue a floater to any type of magnet, but shape and dimensions of the floater will depend on the application goals.
So you should be more specific on what you plan to do.
