Does any one use a stand alone translator for dwg or dxf other than the one in unigraphics/translator?

thanks

RE: DWG stand alone translator

There is a command line version of the dxf or dwg translator supplied with the UG translators. Using these you can operform batch translations.

Other than either file save as or file export from within UG are your options. UG does dxf or DWG conversions reasonably well within the limits of what Autocad can cope with in terms of geometry.

I have found that some people we were dealing with had older versions of Autocad than what I had output DXF or DWG files for. In that case I found some translator freeware/shareware readily available on the internet, by doing a quick google search. None of this software will take UG into DXF or DWG, but there does seem to be plenty that takes DXF to DWG and vice versa.

Hope this helps

Regards

Hudson
