"GUI deteced error" problem, turning off graphic accel. does not help

(OP)
Hi,

We are trying to make a model based on an AutoCAD drawing file. However, though we can successfully import the sketch, after we step into making a part, when we click on the "done" button to finlaize the part making procesdure, the part will not be finished and ABAQUS will shut off itself with an error message showing on the DOS window "GUI detected error while waiting for ipc connection to close".

I searched on the internet for possible solutions. And some suggestions are turning down the graphics acceleration. We did that butit did not help.

The AutoCAD drawing file is not large at all, less than 1 MB. And it has roughly 3000 entities. One thing to note is that if we cut the model in the middle, then ABAQUS will allow the part making to be finished through. Therefore it seems a file size (or hardware memory) problem. But what does not seem to make much sense is that even the file of the full model length, information as mentioned, should not be that large to make the problem.
