Pipe bend for ASME Sec-I

Pipe bend for ASME Sec-I

Pipe bend for ASME Sec-I

(OP)
Dear all
1. would like to know any requirement for pipe bend in Section I.

2.Is there any requirement on minimum radius?

Regards.

RE: Pipe bend for ASME Sec-I

1. There is no specific requirements.
2. No

Section I does not address pipe bending except for forming strain limits in PG-19 for austenitic materials. This a specific fabrication process step that is under the control of the fabricator.

One just needs to be sure that the extrados of the bend does not fall below minimum wall thickness, and the ovality of the tube or pipe material is within tolerance as per the original ASME standard specification for pipe or tube material.
