does somebody know the kg/cm^2 of load that babbit of sleeve bearing
does somebody know the kg/cm^2 of load that babbit of sleeve bearing
(OP)
does anybody knows the kg/cm^2 that is usual on bearings of Renk or other manufacturers, and how to calculate the load of a shaft on the bearings, i´m asking for some kind of calcule formulas.... thanks from the far away Africa

RE: does somebody know the kg/cm^2 of load that babbit of sleeve bearing
p=Fr/(DxB)
p - bearing surface load [N/mm2]
Fr - radial load on the bearing [N]
D - bearing shell bore / shaft journal diameter [mm]
B - bearing shell length (radial part) [mm]
Fr results from rotor weight, radial magnetic force and external loads (coupling weight, hydraulic forces (if any), etc.).
Ask RENK for catalogues - they contain bearing dimensions as well as useful graphs (eg. bearing temp. vs speed for different surface loads).
